How do I safely remove gel polish at home?

Pro method:

1. Gently file or buff the top shine off (don't sand all the way through to your nail)
2. Coat skin around nails with cuticle oil or thick cream — protects from acetone drying
3. Soak cotton balls in pure acetone (more than you think you need)
4. Place soaked cotton on each nail, wrap with a 3"x3" foil square. Start with your non-dominant hand.
5. Wait 10–15 minutes. Polish should lift on its own — if it's still stuck, wrap for another 5 min. Don't force it.
6. Wipe off, follow with cuticle oil and hand cream to rehydrate.
